Warranty Information

Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions

  1. Refer to the table above for details on the standard warranty period (“Standard Warranty Period”) and scope of warranty (“Scope of Warranty”) applicable to the respective Epson product (“Product”).

 

  1. This standard warranty (“Standard Warranty”) is only valid in relation to the Products purchased locally in Malaysia and are supplied by Epson Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Epson”).

 

  1. During the Standard Warranty Period, Epson hereby warrants that the Product is free from manufacturing defects that would substantially affect the function of the Product under normal installation and use, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

 

  1. The Standard Warranty Period shall commence on the date of purchase of the Product, provided that you are able to present valid proof of purchase. In the absence of such proof, the Standard Warranty Period shall instead commence on the date the Product was shipped from Epson’s warehouse, as determined by Epson’s internal records.

 

  1. The Standard Warranty covers the Product against defects in material and workmanship when installed and used normally for the respective Standard Warranty Period. Subject to the applicable limitations and exclusions set out herein, Epson will only be liable, at its discretion, to repair the Product, replace parts of the Product, and/or replace the Product with a new or refurbished unit of at least equal functionality. For the replacement of the Product and/or part, you will be required to return the defective Product and/or part to Epson. Any defective Product, or part thereof, replaced shall become the property of Epson. All decisions made by Epson in respect of the Product shall be final and conclusive and you agree to be bound by such decisions.

 

  1. For under-Warranty Products, the spare parts provided for the repair of the Products shall be warranted for the remaining period under the Standard Warranty Period. For out-of-Warranty Products, the spare parts sold to you for the repair of the Products shall be warranted for a period of three (3) months from the date of completion of the repair.

 

  1. Warranty service will be provided based on the mode applicable to your Product. The mode of service available to you is determined by the model and specifications of your Product, as set out in the table above. The service mode will be one of the following:

 

a.       For carry-in service, you shall bring the Product to an Epson Authorised Service Centre for repair and/or servicing (“Carry-In Service”).

 

b.       For on-site service, Epson shall carry out the repair and/or servicing of the Product at the installation location (“On-Site Service”). For locations outside of Malaysia’s main island (i.e. offshore islands including, but not limited to, Sentosa, Jurong Island, Pulau Ubin), such On-Site Service will be subject to additional charges.

 

In circumstances where On-Site Service cannot be provided due to conditions beyond Epson’s reasonable control (including, without limitation, denial of entry to high-security areas or locations, which may require special permits or clearances), you shall arrange for Carry-In Service for the Product at an Epson Authorised Service Centre at your own cost.

 

  1. Any delivery, incidental charges or charges for services outside the scope of this Standard Warranty shall be borne by you.

 

  1. Epson reserves the right to amend these Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice to you. The latest version of the Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions shall be posted on this page and shall supersede all earlier versions of the terms and conditions, including but not limited to those set out in the hard copy warranty card bundled with your Product during your initial purchase. You should visit this page for the latest applicable Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions.

 

  1. When you (a) register the Product warranty online; and/or (b) send or request for the servicing or repairs of the Product at an Epson Authorised Service Partner Centre, you are deemed to have been aware of, and agree to be bound by, the latest Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions as set out herein.

 

  1. The Standard Warranty shall be rendered null and void if:

 

  1. The Product is damaged (i) in transit, (ii) by vermin/insects, (iii) through the spillage of liquid, (iv) through any other improper use or mishandling by you after the purchase of the Product; and/or (v) as a result of natural disasters or other acts of God;

 

  1. The Product is installed, maintained, operated or used other than in accordance with the instructions provided in the Product user manual;

 

  1. The Product is altered, modified, serviced or repaired by a party not authorised by Epson; or

 

  1. The Product is used in conjunction with non-genuine Epson consumables, including but not limited to third party ink cartridges, ribbon cartridges, toner cartridges, refill kits, continuous ink systems, non-genuine media or any other such products. 

 

  1. The Standard Warranty does not apply to:

 

  1. Transportation, delivery and/or incidental costs incurred in the fulfilment of the Warranty;

 

  1. Maintenance kits and parts requiring replacement due to normal wear and tear, corrosion, rust or stain or accessories (e.g. cables, etc.) and components which are designed to be non-reusable (e.g. fuses, etc.);

 

  1. Consumables and/or accessory parts used in relation to the Product, including but not limited to print media, etc.;

 

  1. Products for which the model or serial number has been tampered with, removed, altered or obliterated;

 

  1. Defects or damage caused by the use of or interaction with third party accessories, optional products or consumables in conjunction with the Product;

 

  1. Defects or damage arising from computer virus attacks; and

 

  1. Data and/or application recovery and restoration on the Product.

 

  1. Where applicable, you are required to perform a complete data and application back-up before sending the Product for repairs and/or servicing. While Epson will attempt to minimise the chance of data and application loss, Epson shall not be responsible for the condition of the data and application before and after the diagnostics and repairs of the Product. Epson shall not be responsible for any data and application loss for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to computer failures during the servicing of the Product, or the formatting of the hard drive of the Product during the repair and/or replacement of the operating system software of the Product.

 

  1. By registering the Product with Epson, you hereby acknowledge that you are informed and are aware of your rights and liabilities under the relevant laws governing the purchase and use of the Product. Except as set forth above, any express, implied warranties, whether written or oral, conditions of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, whether made by Epson or any other party, are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law, and where they are imposed by law, shall be limited to the applicable Standard Warranty Period or the shortest period possible under operation of such law.

 

  1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epson and/or its holding companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, authorised distributors, dealers and retailers shall not be liable to you for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential loss or damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of data, revenue, business, profits, goodwill or contracts, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss), costs, expenses or other claims for compensation howsoever arising (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) from the use of the Product.

 

  1. If any provisions of this Standard Warranty are judged to be illegal or unenforceable, those provisions shall be severed from this Standard Warranty and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

 

  1. The terms and conditions of this Standard Warranty are governed by the laws prevailing in Malaysia and any dispute arising thereto is subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysia courts.

 

 

CoverPlus Extended Warranty Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Refer to the table above for details on the extended warranty period (“Extended Warranty Period”) and eligible period (“Eligible Period”) applicable to the respective Epson product (“Product”).

 

  1. This extended warranty (“Extended Warranty”) is only valid in relation to the Products purchased locally in Singapore and are supplied by Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Epson”).

 

  1. The Extended Warranty is valid for the Product provided the Extended Warranty is purchased within the Eligible Period specified in the table above.

 

  1. The Extended Warranty Period shall commence immediately after the expiry of the Standard Warranty Period and shall remain in effect for the additional period as reflected on the MyEpson portal.

 

  1. The purchase of Extended Warranty does not preclude the purchase of additional Extended Warranty coverage, provided that:

 

  1. the additional Extended Warranty is purchased within the Eligible Period; and

 

  1. the cumulative Extended Warranty coverage does not extend beyond five (5) years from the commencement date of the Warranty Period.

 

  1. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Epson reserves the right to impose limits on the number or duration of Extended Warranty periods available for purchase per Product. The maximum number of Extended Warranty purchases allowed, if any, are set out in the table above.

 

  1. Each additional Extended Warranty period shall commence immediately upon the expiry of the preceding warranty period, unless otherwise stated in writing.

 

  1. Any usage-based limits for the Product (e.g. print volume, operating hours, or similar thresholds) specified in the Standard Warranty shall remain unchanged and shall not be reset or be extended by this Extended Warranty. The usage-based limit shall continue to apply on a cumulative basis from the commencement date of the Warranty Period throughout the Extended Warranty Period(s).

 

  1. Where the Product is covered under Carry-In Service during the Warranty Period, you may be eligible to upgrade to On-Site Service upon the purchase of Extended Warranty, subject to availability. The availability of such an upgrade may vary by Product and shall be specified on the MyEpson portal.

 

  1. This Extended Warranty shall incorporate by reference all terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations of the Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions. The Standard Warranty Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply in full throughout the Extended Warranty Period. In the event of any conflict between the terms of this Extended Warranty and the Standard Warranty, the provisions of this Extended Warranty shall prevail only to the extent of the inconsistency and solely for the Extended Warranty Period.

 

Print Head and Anti-Drying Cap Warranty Terms and Conditions

 

  1. Without prejudice to any other terms as set out under the Standard/Extended Warranty Terms and Conditions, the terms and conditions set out herein shall apply specifically to the print head (“Print Head”) and anti-drying cap (“Cap”) for the following Epson products: SC-F10030, F10030H, F3030, F11030, F11030H, SC-R5030 and SC-R5030L (the “Applicable Products”).

 

  1. The Print Head and Cap of the Applicable Products are covered by a limited warranty for a period of three (3) months, subject to the terms and conditions set out below (“Print Head/Cap Warranty”). The Print Head/Cap Warranty shall commence on the same date as the warranty period for the Applicable Products. For any replacement Print Head or Cap, the warranty shall commence from the date of installation (collectively, the “Applicable Warranty Period”). 

 

  1. The Print Head/Cap Warranty is separate and distinct from the Standard Warranty and/or Extended Warranty that applies to the main unit and other components of the Applicable Products. For the avoidance of doubt, any purchase of Extended Warranty for the Applicable Product shall not apply to the Print Head and/or Cap and shall not extend or modify the Print Head/Cap Warranty set out herein.

 

  1. During the Applicable Warranty Period, Epson hereby warrants that the Print Head and Cap is free from manufacturing defects that would substantially affect the function of the Applicable Product under normal installation and use, subject to these Terms and Conditions.

 

  1. The Print Head/Cap Warranty covers the Print Head and Cap against defects in material and workmanship when installed and used normally for the Applicable Warranty Period. Subject to the applicable limitations and exclusions set out herein, Epson will only be liable, at its discretion, to repair the Print Head and Cap and/or replace them with a new or refurbished unit of at least equal functionality. For the replacement of the Print Head and Cap, you will be required to return the defective Print Head and Cap to Epson. Any defective Print Head and Cap replaced shall become the property of Epson. All decisions made by Epson in respect of the Product shall be final and conclusive and you agree to be bound by such decisions.

 

  1. Following the expiry of the Print Head/Cap Warranty, additional Print Head and/or Cap may be purchased from Epson’s authorised sellers, subject to further applicable charges.

 

  1. The Print Head/Cap Warranty shall be rendered null and void if:

 

  1. The Print Head and/or Cap is damaged (i) in transit, (ii) by vermin/insects, (iii) through the spillage of liquid, (iv) through any other improper use or mishandling by you; and/or (v) as a result of natural disasters or other acts of God;

 

  1. The Print Head and/or Cap is kept, installed, maintained, operated or used other than in accordance with the instructions provided by Epson;

 

  1. The Print Head and/or Cap is altered, modified, serviced or repaired by a party not authorised by Epson; or

 

  1. The Print Head and/or Cap is used in conjunction with non-genuine Epson consumables, including but not limited to third party ink cartridges, ribbon cartridges, toner cartridges, refill kits, continuous ink systems, non-genuine media or any other such products.

 

  1. The Print Head/Cap Warranty does not apply to:

 

  1. Transportation, delivery and/or incidental costs incurred in the fulfilment of the Print Head/Cap Warranty;

 

  1. Print Head and/or Cap for which the model or serial number has been tampered with, removed, altered or obliterated;

 

  1. Defects or damage caused by the use of or interaction with third party accessories, optional products or consumables in conjunction with the Print Head and/or Cap;

 

  1. Defects or damage arising from computer virus attacks; and

 

  1. Data and/or application recovery and restoration on the Applicable Product.

 

  1. Except as set forth above, any express, implied warranties, whether written or oral, conditions of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, whether made by Epson or any other party, are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law, and where they are imposed by law, shall be limited to the Applicable Warranty Period or the shortest period possible under operation of such law.

 

  1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epson and/or its holding companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, authorised distributors, dealers and retailers shall not be liable to you for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential loss or damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of data, revenue, business, profits, goodwill or contracts, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss), costs, expenses or other claims for compensation howsoever arising (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) from the use of the Print Head and/or Cap.

 

  1. If any provisions of this Print Head/Cap Warranty are judged to be illegal or unenforceable, those provisions shall be severed from this Print Head/Cap Warranty and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

 

  1. The terms and conditions of this Print Head/Cap Warranty are governed by the laws prevailing in Malaysia and any dispute arising thereto is subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysia courts.
