Epson business inkjet printers advance
workplaces with responsible printing
Epson inkjet redefines printing for today’s workplaces. Powered by three key innovations – Dust-Free1, Heat-Free2, and Stress-Free3 – Epson delivers printing designed to help reduce electricity use, with reliable and responsible printing experiences for productive environments across a wide range of industries.
Printing with Dust-Free air in mind
What does Dust-Free mean?
Dust-Free means that there are no detectable dust particles generated from the printer during operation.
Why Dust-Free printing matters in workplaces
1. Education
Classrooms and learning spaces
In classrooms and shared learning areas, where many people gather throughout the day, maintaining comfortable indoor conditions is important. Dust-Free1 printing supports these spaces by keeping fine and ultrafine dust emissions from printing to very low levels, helping create a more suitable indoor environment for teaching and learning activities.
2. Manufacturing
Controlled and sensitive work areas
Manufacturing environments 4 often include processes or equipment that require careful control of airborne particles. In these settings, Dust-Free1 printing helps limit the introduction of additional fine and ultrafine dust during printing, supporting well-maintained conditions in offices, control rooms, and nearby work areas.
3. Healthcare
Hospitals and medical facilities
Hospitals and medical facilities prioritise cleanliness and comfort across a wide range of spaces, including administrative offices and support areas. Dust-Free1 printing helps keep fine and ultrafine dust emissions from printing to very low levels, contributing to a more pleasant environment for staff and visitors in non-clinical areas.
4. Government
Administrative and office workplaces
Government offices rely on shared workspaces and consistent daily operations. Dust-Free1 printing supports these environments by helping to limit fine and ultrafine dust emissions during printing, contributing to well-maintained office environments where staff can focus on administrative tasks with fewer distractions.
How Dust-Free* performance was tested?
*Under specific chamber test conditions conducted by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and Testing, selected Epson models (AM-C4000, AM-C400 and L6490) showed that dust levels are below quantifiable limit, indicating that there are no detectable dust particles generated from the printer during operation.
Heat-Free Technology
Printing that operates without heat
Epson’s Heat-Free Technology does not require heat during the ink ejection process. This helps reduce electricity use and allows workplaces to manage printing costs more efficiently.
- 85% less electricity consumption2 vs laser printers
- Supports lower printing costs for workplaces
- Quick start-up with no warm-up time
Stress-Free
Printing designed to minimise interruptions
Epson Inkjet printers use a simplified print system with fewer moving components, helping reduce servicing needs and keeping day-to-day printing smooth and consistent.
- Up to 59% less replacement parts3 help reduce the need for frequent component changes
- Less downtime supports steady, uninterrupted operation
- Designed for smoother workflows with minimal maintenance

1 This test was conducted by Epson Korea at the request of KTL (Korea Testing & Research Institute) to measure the emission of fine and ultrafine dust, ozone, and volatile organic compounds before and after the operation (printing) stage of each product. The test was conducted using the test standards, methods, and printing patterns specified in KS X ISO/IEC 28360-1:2018.
* The results of this test are the test results for the field accredited by a Korean accreditation body that has signed the Mutual Recognition Agreement of International Testing Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Organizations, and were evaluated and written in accordance with the emission standards of domestic eco-label certification (printer) and the emission standards related to the German BLUE Angel label.
* The definitions of fine and ultrafine dust mentioned in this test are as follows.
• Fine particles (FP): particles with a diameter between 0.1 μm and 2.5 μm
• Ultrafine particles (UFP): particles with a diameter of 0.1 μm or less
* The criteria for each limit of quantification1 and ‘unquantifiable’ for the result values of below limit of quantification (BLQ) and ‘unquantifiable’ mentioned in this test are in accordance with KS X ISO/IEC 28360-1:2018 and are as follows.
• No detectable fine/ultrafine dust generated from the printer during operation: ΔCP ≤ 1000 cm⁻³ (ΔCP: difference in total particle number concentration at the start/end of operation.)
2 Testing was commissioned by Epson and conducted by Keypoint Intelligence. One specific model was selected from colour laser multi-function printers in the 65–70ppm class. Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C21000 with 100ppm (equivalent model in Europe was used during the evaluation). This data is as of September, 2020. Devices were tested in default mode as per Keypoint Intelligence’s proprietary standard energy consumption test methods. Calculations were based on a weekday workload of 2 × 4 hours printing + 16 hours in sleep/standby mode, and weekend energy use of 48 hours in sleep/standby mode. A total of 69 pages of workload test patterns using DOC, XLS, PPT, HTML, PDF files and Outlook email messages were printed six times in each 4-hour printing period.
3 Testing was commissioned by Epson and conducted by Keypoint Intelligence. One competitor model was selected from worldwide best-selling vendor1 in the 65ppm and 70ppm colour laser multi-function printer. Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20600 with 60ppm (equivalent model in Europe was used during the evaluation). Consumables and periodic replacement parts required to print 1M pages. The weight includes all used consumables, periodical replacement parts and their packaging. Test printed pattern used was ISO24712.
