At Nagoya Sakae Tokyu Inn we produce a lot of banners and hanging signboards for parties and seminars. In order to increase profit margin and decrease the time, we stopped orders with outside vendors and introduced the large format printer Epson Stylus Pro 7600.
Our banquet and restaurant business stands along side our lodging business as the main source of profit for our hotel. Banners and hanging signboards, such as "Welcome Party" or "Seminar Site," are placed on the stage in the banquet room. Until now we ordered all of our banners and signboards from outside vendors. The most common ones were simple black and white. But since introducing the Epson Stylus Pro 7600, we now produce all of them by ourselves in color.

We are now able to increase our profit
Usually we charge the customer for banners and hanging signboards as part of the overall banquet cost. The profit the hotel made was this amount minus the outside vendor fees. But as this was an incidental service for banquets, we could not expect to get a big profit margin from this. By creating all of these things in-house, we are now able to increase our profit without increasing the burden on our customers. And we can flexibly satisfy customer requests regarding size, color or scanning their company logo.
It is great that it enables us to increase the level of our customer satisfaction. When using an outside vendor, it used to take about 1 week from the time we would place an order until the job was completed. But now we can have a job finished in 1 day.
We always want to transmit new information!
Each month, we hold a seasonal fair at the restaurant and offer numerous plans for weddings and parties. Before purchasing Epson Stylus Pro 7600, we had to decide on the printing content about 1 month in advance to send it to outside vendors, and finish the proofing in a half month. But after introducing Epson Stylus Pro 7600, we can plan and produce things quickly and timely. We are also satisfied with the photos of cuisine. They even look nicer than the work done by outside vendors. Posters for fairs are put inside of glass-covered frames and displayed outside for about 1 month. But the color doesn’t fade at all.
Attracting customers is a big thing for hotels. And the competition among hotels is particularly severe in the Nagoya Sakae area, where there are many hotels. A hotel cannot survive unless it is constantly attracting the public with new services, events and other things. But even so, like other industries we also have to deal with the inevitable problem of reducing our costs. This was a determining factor in our choosing Epson Stylus Pro 7600. In order to reduce costs, we ended up getting one Epson Stylus Pro7600. Another big attraction was that we would be able to create our own POPs and posters with Excel and Word on my PC as needed. It’s just like using regular printer.
Expanding range of application effect on attracting customers becoming apparent
The effect of posters and POPs we produce on our Epson Stylus Pro 7600 is appearing gradually on a variety of levels. Since color was expensive we used to be hesitant to do these in color, but now we can. Also, until now, we didn’t offer information about the daily lunch menu but now we offer this information everyday and lots of people are coming to the restaurant.
Recently, since such POPs come out so nicely, we’ve had requests from people in other departments to make POPs. Also, a person who holds a seminar at another hotel has asked us if we could make only a banner for him, because it is expensive to have it done at the other hotel. Of course, we are glad to do so but would even be happier if that person would hold his seminar at our hotel.

The Nagoya Sakae Tokyu Inn is located in Sakae, the busiest section in the entire Tokai region. The hotel has 297 guest rooms. It is very popular for the unique services it offers, including "comfort rooms" where business people can totally relax and for its reasonable prices and great location.
